Every Heart Has a Story

 Today's journal is written by Camella and Bruce Binkley.

This is a story that begins for us with Anna. In 2007, we met Anna at a meeting where children in need of life saving heart surgeries met with representatives of GIBTK and shared their need for funds to have the surgeries. We made a choice that day to provide funding for Anna’s surgery. Anna experienced a wonderful recovery and with the help of GIBTK staff we have remained in contact with Anna arranging visits when we are in Vietnam…including just a few days ago when this photo was taken. Anna is married, has a five year old son and continues to pursue her dreams.

Another story  is Tien. Tien’s surgery was in 2021 and sponsored by the Southards, dear friends of ours. Tien was a sick little girl but is now a healthy, happy 12 year old. She has a dream of being a professional singer and even shared a beautiful song with us when we visited a few days ago. Just to think - two hearts - two stories - and two lives that most probably wouldn’t be if GIBTK and partners weren’t in the life saving business. There are more hearts to be healed and more stories to be told.
