Dorothea’s Project Legacy’s aim is to provide expectant mothers with acquiring knowledge on emotional health and medical care during and after pregnancy, up until the baby reaches one year old.
Multivitamins are provided for free to pregnant women in Que Son and Hiep Duc during pregnancy and up to 6 months after birth.
Additionally, this program supports ultrasound screenings for fetal abnormalities in the critical stages of pregnancy to detect hydrocephalus and other congenital malformations at Vinh Duc General Hospital.
In the case that a baby is detected to have congenital heart disease, hydrocephalus, or other congenital malformations that need surgeries after birth, the Giving It Back To Kids organization will consider sponsoring the cost of treatment.
To date, this program has reached over 244 pregnant mothers and 203 healthy babies have been born.
