Pursuing Dreams

Pursuing Dreams
Today's story is about Nguyen Thi Bao Tran - a heart patient GIBTK met 15 years ago.

Tran, an 18-year-old girl, is studying maritime management at the University of Transport in Ho Chi Minh City. Seeing her pretty face and good health, little do people know that Tran suffered from a congenital heart disease 15 years ago.

It can be said that the fateful meeting between Tran and Giving It Back To Kids together with its donors in 2007 marked an important turning point in this girl’s life.

Thanks to the successful heart surgery, Tran now has a healthy heart to enjoy life and a good health to pursue her dreams as her peers. She just has an annual follow-up visit just to be safe. Tran’s father works as motorbike Grab driver in Ho Chi Minh City to take care of her. Her mother works as a bricklayer in Quang Ngai province to take care of Tran’s 6-years-old brother and 12-years-old sister.

The life-saving heart surgery 15 years ago saved her life and has brought more opportunities and hopes to her!

To date, GIBTK has funded 1,747 life-saving heart surgeries.

"We highly appreciate you and thank you for transforming lives"

Sincerely,

Robert Kalatschan
