Here's Haong's journal. As always if your led to send a not of encouragement I will forward it. God bless you and our country and the world....

Hello everyone!
My full name is Mai Thi Hoang Trang and I am 29 years old. I was born and grew up in the poor countryside of Quang Nam province. It's a place that has a strong attachment to my beautiful childhood. Currently, I am married and had a nice son. I'm really happy to work in my hometown and now I am carrying out the mission of helping the less fortunate children with education.

I started my job at Dorothea's Project Legacy 2, nine months ago, and it was a time full of beautiful memories for me. At first, I was really surprised and nervous when I entered the class, even though I had taught other schools in my hometown before. Differently here from other places, colleagues and students welcomed me enthusiastically. The conversations, confidences, and sharing between teachers and students took place intimately to dispel my worries.

Working, teaching, and seeing my students at Legacy 2 not only develops, but also striving to overcome difficulties brings happiness for me. The students coming to Legacy 2 to study come from families which have difficult circumstances. But I find one thing that they never lack is energy, the desire to overcome difficult situations to rise in learning and life.

Vo Thi My Quyen is a typical case.  Quyen's family has five members, her 80-year-old grandmother, her parents, two sisters, and Quyen. Her father works as a building worker.  He only works on sunny days, so the salary is unstable. Her mother stays at home to do the household chores and breed some cattle and poultry. Quyen's mother has contracted rheumatism for a long time, so sometimes she goes to the hospital for treatment, but it costs a lot of money.

Because of the difficult circumstance, her family is living at her grandmother's house. Being aware of her parents' hardships, Quyen always tries her best to study. Also, in her spare time, she also helps her parents with the housework. Before joining Legacy 2, her learning capacity was so weak, she seldom exchanged lessons with her classmates during class and she often cannot complete all homework.

After attending Legacy 2, she has made astonishing progress in all of the subjects. She memorized the old lessons and completed all the assignments. Moreover, she also bravely asked questions and focused on listening to the lecture.

As far as we know, recently Vietnam and the whole world are trying to fight off Coronavirus. Vietnam is doing well in preventing and fighting against epidemics, so there have been no new cases for many days. During the nationwide social distancing, the students didn't go to school and they were trying to make a small contribution to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 by staying at home, as well as not gathering.

They were at home learning online via television. To help students review their knowledge, we supported them by teaching online and assigning assignments via Facebook. If any students' families didn't have WIFI, we would call to support them, and we also helped them to create daily learning habits at home. This is a necessary thing to help children avoid forgetting their knowledge when they return to school. Happily, students have returned to school after a long break. They are all very excited and joyful to be back. And I am absolutely delighted to see them again.

The prevention of epidemics of COVID-19 is still very difficult, but I believe that both Vietnam and the world will soon control as well as push back the epidemic. I hope that Legacy 2 will be more and more developed so that I and other teachers here can contribute more to help the less fortunate children to fulfill their dreams.

By the way, I would like to express my sincere and deep thanks to the sponsors for always caring and creating conditions for Legacy 2 to be maintained and developed as it is today. I wish my students will overcome the difficulties in this epidemic, always be healthy, peaceful and soon return to normal life.

With Love; Hoang
