Saving Tran: A Story of Kindness and Miracles

Fourteen years ago, a father desperately asked for help. His firstborn daughter, Tran, had a serious heart problem that needed urgent surgery. Without it, she wouldn’t survive. The local doctors couldn’t perform the surgery because it required foreign specialists and advanced technology.

But the cost was far more than her family could afford. As a street cake seller earning just 10,000 VND per day (about $0.50 USD), her father had no way to pay for it. Her mother stayed home to take care of Tran and couldn’t work. With no other options, they could only hope that someone would hear their plea.

A miracle happened to her family's life when GIBTK stepped in.

Their prayers were answered in March 2010 when GIBTK and its donors stepped in to help. Thanks to their generosity, Tran received the life-saving surgery she needed. The recovery process was difficult, but she overcame it. Over the years, her heart became strong, and she no longer needed any medicine.

Tram is now a healthy and excellent student.

Today, Tran is a bright and ambitious young woman. She is now in 11th grade and does very well in school, especially in Math and English. Her parents are incredibly proud of her, a complete change from the fear and worry they once felt.

Their family’s life has transformed in ways they never imagined. Without medical bills weighing them down, they now run a small but successful snack and candy business in their community. Happiness and stability have replaced the struggles of the past. But no matter how much their lives have improved, they will always remember the kindness that saved Tran and gave them hope for the future.
