18 Years Ago: The Surgery That Changed Toan’s Life

Toan was born into a poor farming family in a rural village. His parents worked tirelessly in the fields from dawn to dusk, but their income was barely enough to cover daily necessities. Life was already challenging, but it became even more difficult when they discovered that Toan had congenital heart disease.

The mother's sorrowful, dazed expression upon learning her child had congenital heart disease.

As a child, Toan often felt weak and struggled to keep up with his friends. Simple activities like running or playing outside would leave him breathless. His parents longed to see him healthy, but the cost of heart surgery was far beyond their reach. They could only watch helplessly as their son’s condition worsened, praying for a miracle.

That miracle came when Giving It Back To Kids (GIBTK) and kindhearted sponsors stepped in. Toan received the life-saving heart surgery. The operation was a success, and for the first time in his life, he could breathe easily and live without fear.

The present Toan now has a family and a fulfilling life.

Years passed, and Toan grew into a strong, healthy young man. With a heart full of gratitude, he worked hard to build a better future for himself and his family. Today, 18 years after his surgery, Toan is not only healthy but also happily married.

?His family is now preparing to welcome their first child, a beautiful new chapter in his life.
