From Despair to Dream: Tuan Anh's Path to Success

Tuan Anh was born in 2002 into a poor family. Her father passed away a long time ago. Her mother, who is over 60 years old, has to work hard to raise her. The main source of income for their family of two is Anh’s mother brewing rice wine and selling it to people in the hamlet.

Additionally, her mother plants rice on a small plot of land, but the amount harvested is not much—just enough to meet the family’s needs. Many times, Tuan Anh felt helpless about her family’s condition and didn't know what to do. She thought of dropping out of school and working as a hired laborer.

Surrounded by those she calls sisters who share similar circumstances

But fortunately, fate led Tuan Anh to meet GIBTK, an organization that brought her the light of faith and hope. At the Lighthouse—our home for girls over 18 years old—she received special care and attention from everyone. The sisters, who shared similar circumstances, became her second family.

Here, Tuan Anh not only received a place to live but also gained great emotional support, access to everything she needed in terms of nutrition, education, and healthcare, which helped her become more confident in her studies and life, allowing her to pursue her dreams.

With relentless effort and a supportive learning environment, Tuan Anh graduated with an excellent degree in Nursing—which was also her biggest dream and aspiration. This achievement was not only hers but also the result of the support and encouragement from many people who accompanied her on this journey. 

Confidently becoming a skilled nurse

Soon, Tuan Anh will start a six-month internship at a hospital and begin the career she has always desired, promising many good things in the future.

It is because of this opportunity that Tuan Anh has been able to achieve things she never thought possible and will be able to help her mother in the future.
