Faith and Fortitude - Chanminea's Story

?

My name is Khan Chanminea, a 16-year-old girl in grade 10. I have been at GIBTK since November 2022, almost two years. I come from a poor rural family with three younger siblings. My father shepherds cows for others, and my mother sells vegetables and does laundry to support us.

Since I was young, my mother emphasized education as our path out of poverty. When I was in fourth grade, our family suffered a violent attack. Our home was destroyed, and my father was badly injured. We couldn't afford to press charges, so we focused on my father's recovery. To help my family, I dropped out of school temporarily to work as a clothes washer, corn collector, and vegetable seller.

The day Chanminea joined the Home marked a life-changing milestone

The biggest change was discovering and believing in Jesus Christ. My life completely transformed. This newfound belief brought hope, joy, and love into my life, along with the educational opportunities I had always longed for. As time goes by while living at Giving It Back To Kids, I study hard to become a teacher. Looking back, I still cannot believe I got this opportunity. I could not imagine my life without coming here to this safe and beautiful home.

From the bottom of my heart, I praise God for His divine plan in my life. I am filled with joy as I pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I am eternally grateful to Giving It Back To Kids and the generous donors for their devoted kindness and support. Because of your compassion, countless lives, including mine, have been transformed.

Now she can confidently return to school to pursue her dreams
