Healing Hearts

Ly was unfortunate to be born with congenital heart disease. However, her family does not have the money for her surgery. She has lived with the disease for 10 years. She was recommended to have surgery many times, but she cannot afford it because of her poverty.

Ly when she was young

?Her parents make bamboo baskets and earn about 170 USD per month in the dry season. They are hired to wash dishes for some diners in the rainy season. Therefore, living expenses and medical costs are still a burden to her family. Their daughter’s surgery will not be performed without any help. 

The day she had heart surgery with GIBTK marked her complete transformation

“My daughter’s life is threatened, please save her,” her mother said in tears.

Fortunately, luck blossomed for Ly’s family when in August 2012, GIBTK sponsored her heart surgery, completely changing her life and allowing her to live a healthy life like others. Ly got engaged in early May 2024, and her 26-year-old fiancé works as a chef at a Thai restaurant. Ly is currently working as a cashier in a seafood restaurant and earns a stable income.

Ly and her family are currently doing quite well. When talking to Ly, her voice showed that she is content with her current life, and she wants to send her sincere thanks to GIBTK and the sponsor for giving her the opportunity to live a better life.
