Nguyen's Path to Engineering Success

Do Thanh Nguyen was born into a poor family with three children in Da Nang city. His father passed away due to epilepsy, leaving his mother as the family's breadwinner. Raising three children wasn't easy, so she borrowed money from relatives to cover all her children's schooling fees.

Because of their poverty and his mother's burden, Nguyen always strived to study hard to help his mother and two siblings. He studied hard and was accepted into the University of Technology, but the joy of his success was overshadowed by the worry of high tuition fees that his family couldn't afford, and Nguyen faced the possibility of leaving school.

Having access to adequate nutrition and a wonderful environment

Then in August 2019, GIBTK welcomed him to live in Hal’s Home—a male student home—and pursue his dream of becoming an engineer. He graduated from the University of Technology in September 2023 with a degree in Marine Control Engineering & Automation. Nguyen currently works on projects for FOXLINK Company as a machinery engineer—an Industry 4.0 company that produces electronic circuits and specializes in data analysis and automation technologies.

Besides school subjects, soft skills are extremely important to Nguyen

"Without the love and guidance of the organization, I'm not sure where I would be; I might have ended up becoming a mason rather than an engineer. My desire to attend university nearly ended because of the difficult circumstances I was facing at the time, but I kept believing in it, and something amazing happened—GIBTK. As a result of our time spent at Hal’s Home, all of us are entering the world with dignity and morality. My strength, skills, and confidence are growing steadily today.

I will always be grateful for what GIBTK has done for me, and I will continue to pray for GIBTK to expand so that many underprivileged children can transform their dreams and soar into a bright future. I have found success and real passion—thank you for transforming my life,” quoted a grateful Nguyen!

He graduated with excellence and obtained a dream job
