Changing Lives, One Child at a Time

Changing Lives, One Child at a Time

Today's journal is from Uyen Vu

Transforming lives through medical care, education, nutrition, and love" What an incredible experience to see the GIBTK labor of love. With a multitude of projects across Vietnam and Cambodia, including wheelchair programs, water filtration, heart and orthopedic surgeries, and transforming the lives of children, providing them with love and bright futures.

Uyen had a wonderful time at the GIBTK shelters

We wouldn’t leave Da Nang without saying goodbye to the kids. What an emotional heart warming experience! We got a chance to visit all 5 homes - 4 of which provide loving environment for the kids to grow up and go to school. When I asked what is their favorite part of staying here, some got emotional and said, “Without the love and support from the organization, I probably now work on the farm with my parents…”

Spending quality time with the children.

The Father’s house is a meaningful, special place. In Vietnam, due to cultural shame, young unwed mothers are often rejected by their family and/or village. The Father’s House provides a safe home filled with love, acceptance, and encouragement for these young moms. Along with basic needs and medical care, they have an opportunity to complete their education or training so they can support themselves and their child.

Spending time getting to know single mothers and their children, alongside Ivan, her fiancé.

Through the kids, I see my 14 year-old self with full of dreams, my 12 year-old cousin with happiness, my 7 year-old niece with kindness. To Robert and @gibtk team, thank you for everything that you have done for the kids! Thank you for letting them know they are loved! Thank you for not only focusing on education, but most importantly, teaching them characters, teaching them to love, to care for one another. Gratitude really goes a long way!

Meaningful moments with the girls at Mary's Home

The last picture is our handmade gifts from the kids (yes Ivan has a Vietnamese name, Minh).

?Thank you for your pure heart and kindness, kiddos! We love you!

"We highly appreciate you and thank you for transforming lives"
