Truong Cong Nhat was born in Hue city to a very low-income family. His father fixes bicycles, while his mother cooks, and their combined income is only around $120 per month. They couldn't afford enough food and had to live in someone else's home. Nhat has had a passion for painting and art since he was five years old. His dreams to become an artist, an architect, and a business owner when he grows up, Nhat has consistently made efforts and worked hard to learn. His dream came true when he passed the University entrance exam for an Architecture major. However, due to his family's financial situation, he felt trapped and on the verge of quitting school, making his desire to major in architecture at the University of Architecture seem impossible.

Nhat was blessed with a miracle when he was nurtured in GIBTK’s arms in August 2018. In the past, he was known to be a shy person, but now, Nhat has acquired more knowledge from GIBTK’s staff and has become more confident in society. He began to turn his tragedy into a happy ending as he excelled academically in school and was selected to compete in significant city competitions. He has since earned the trust of the leadership team, graduated with an excellent degree in architecture, and is now has a dream job. Nhat intends to eventually launch his own company and return to GIBTK’s to help unfortunate children like himself after gaining more knowledge and resources in the future.

“Living in Hal's Home, where I experienced unconditional love, invaluable lessons, a healthy environment, and wisdom imparted about leadership skills and emotional health, has been a successful strategy for me. We still consider ourselves part of Hal's Home, no matter where we are. Since we were with GIBTK, each of us has developed the dignity and character we are bringing into the world. Nhat said, “I'm currently making progressive strides in strength, maturity, and confidence. What sets me apart and transforms me? Does the home I call Hal’s contain the warm hearts that are characteristic of GIBTK’s? – Definitely YES.”
