Nguyen Thi Hong Tam
My name is Nguyen Thi Hong Tam. I was born on December 26th, 2001, in Que Son District - Quang Nam province. I come from a big family of six people and I am the youngest in the family. Despite being born into a poor family, my parents worked hard all year round so that they could give us a good education and all of us graduated from university.
Up to now, I have still thought that I was right when choosing to learn the major of social work where I could help people around me. During four years at university, I had opportunities to take part in activities that help many disadvantaged children in remote and mountainous areas, or professional practice trips at medical centers or hospitals. Every experience instilled my love and compassion.
Fortunately, when being at the university, I had the opportunity to participate in many programs with the position of Deputy Secretary of the Union of the Faculty of Psychology - Education. Thanks to this I interacted with many students with difficult circumstances and through it I learned about GIBTK. While waiting for a university diploma, I knew that GIBTK was hiring a life skills and mental health teacher for a community program in Que Son district. I did not hesitate to apply for this position because this was my hometown and I’d love to help the children develop and grow up in a healthy environment. I feel lucky and grateful that GIBTK has allowed me to become a part of it. I am thankful to be able to work in a friendly and healthy environment and also be able to help less fortunate children here.
