My full name is Le Thi Phuong Thao and I come from a big family of seven members in Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province.
Both of my parents are farmers, so in order to provide their children with a good education, they poured their blood, sweat, and tears into the fields year after year. Even with all their hard work, our living conditions were difficult and ultimately my two older sisters accepted that they must give up their dreams of getting into universities to help my parents bring up the younger children. Seeing the hardships that my family lived under, I was determined to study my very best to make them happy. Thanks to my efforts, I was accepted into Da Nang University of Education, majoring in Mathematics. After graduating from my university, I worked as a math teacher at Nam Viet High School for six years. Sometimes in my free time, I tutored at the community classes in Ho Chi Minh City, helping less fortunate children with their studies. Coming from a poor background myself, I realized that I wanted to focus on teaching less fortunate children to help them have a better life.
