Nguyen Cong Binh

My name is Nguyen Cong Binh and I was born on 25th February 1994 in a poor family. There are six members in my family, they are: my parents, three older sisters and me. My parents were farmers and they worked hard to earn a living. Unfortunately, in 2003 my parents and my sister died because of a serious illness without the ability to pay for medical expenses. But this has not broken me down.
I am a poor boy and I want to teach English for the poor students and do charity work.
In 2006, Dai Loc Social Support Centre helped facilitate me to continue to school. After a month of graduating form high school, Giving It Back To Kids organization helped me to continue to write my unfinished dream - become a teacher in the future. After graduating from Da Nang University of Education, it was time for me to leave the organization to start a life of self-reliance. I want to leave Da Nang City to go to Ho Chi Minh City for business. But the living expenses were so high, so I decided to come back to Danang again. It was a right decision for me, because when I came back, I have received information that Giving It Back To Kids is recruiting for an English teacher for a community class project for disadvantaged students. So I decided to apply for that position and two weeks later, I was accepted to work for Giving It Back To Kids.
Many people asked me “Why do you want to do that?” My answer is so simple, “ I am a poor boy and I want to teach English for the poor students and do charity work because I think these poor students need urgent help from others so that they can get over difficulties like I used to meet. I also think that bringing happiness to others means bringing happiness to myself. When I teach them English, I open the bright world for them. With the knowledge of English, they can have a better future and get a good job”. I really love the Giving It Back To Kids organization so much and I try my best to help GIBTK with sharing knowledge as well as life skills for the poor children.
