To Thi Thu Thuy

My full name is To Thi Thu Thuy and I was born on September, 16th, 1997 in Hiep Duc, Quang Nam. I graduated Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2019. My major is nursing. I grew in a family which has four members including my parents, my older brother, and me. My father works in construction. Although his occupation is extremely hard, he has never had a complaint about his job. My mother is a trader. Because of being pretty busy, my mother has little time for my family. However, my family always tries to spend dinner time talking and sharing our stories together. My parents are always ready to provide us with encouragement, keep reminding us about making an attempt to study regardless of their tough work. Consequently, I have been self- reliant since I was a child. I love my parents so much and sincerely thank them.
Consequently, I have been self- reliant since I was a child
When I was a child, I was frightened by experiencing patients’ awful pains or being in the hospital. It was a totally unforgettable time when my grandfather kept a firm hold in my hand and had a few final words with me when I was in grade 9. At that time, I was discontented with myself because I was unable to do anything for saving him, which helped me to be full of determination to overcome my terrible fear and pursue my present career in nursing. I am overjoyed and proud that I am able to take care and encourage people who suffer from disease, especially my family. When I was in my university, I was a willing participant in a lot of volunteering activities such as building homes, providing food, green holiday, and examining citizens in remote areas. Those activities might help unfortunate people to overcome their difficulties partly. These memorable experiences established my deep empathy and readiness of giving my help for children with disabilities who deserve a chance of getting love from other people. I began to realize that I was many times as lucky as disabled children and I questioned myself, “Why don’t I help many more unfortunate people?”
I graduated in 2019 and had difficulty in seeking a dream and a suitable job. Fortunately, I received the recruitment announcement of Giving It Back To Kids for medical staff in Hiep Duc – my hometown. I realized that it was a wonderful opportunity for me to learn, improve my knowledge and skills as well as contribute my effort for my hometown. Working as a staff in Giving It Back To Kids makes me happy and proud. I always try my best to improve my medical knowledge to help pregnant women with healthcare science and teenagers with reproductive health. I am eager to contribute my medical knowledge and accompany GIBTK in helping pregnant women and children with open arms and giving them a better life. I would like to express my deepest thanks to Giving It Back To Kids again for enabling me to undertake very meaningful and humanitarian work. I will try my best at my work and the mission set out by GIBTK.
