Nguyen Thi Thanh Tu – Heart Program

My name is Nguyen Thi Thanh Tu, and I was born in 1993. I grew up in a family of six members including my grandmother, my parents and two younger sisters. Both my parents are farmers. It is still believed that each Vietnamese family has to have at least one son to preserve their ancestors; therefore the relationship between my family and my relatives is really stressful. I try to encourage my parents as much as possible.
This motivates me a great deal in life.
My father underwent a brain hemorrhage operation in October, 2016 and fortunately he recovered. Now, I do feel luckier than other people who no longer have anyone to support them. This motivates me a great deal in life. Now I just want to lead a happy life with my family, to assert myself and help surrounding people.
Sometimes, I think mankind in modern times forgets how to behave kindly toward other people. Being in charge of heart program at Giving It Back To Kids is a new bright step in my life and really meaningful to me. It not only provides me with a chance to get a better insight into humanity, but also reminds me of my innocent childhood. I can see how happy less fortunate people, especially children, are when they learn, play or simply receive a small gift unconditionally!
